Worship & In-person Gatherings Update January 2, 2021

In this New Year Cokesbury continues to offer virtual ministry due to the high COVID numbers in Harford County. Cokesbury's buildings are open by appointment only, contact 410-676-6295 to schedule an appointment. When entering the buildings a health questionnaire and contact information must be completed each time. Follow the directions on the form located by the door.

Bible Study is being offered virtually.  Presently small gatherings of persons from different households is the primary spread for COVID. By gathering virtually we can protect one another's physical health AND show respect for the medical personal who are overwhelmed with the surge of cases in our community. To join the study on "This We Believe" on Tuesdays at 10 AM and 6 PM see the information above.

Worship continues to be offered virtually at 11 AM on Sundays via Cokesbury's YouTube Chanel. It is our shared prayer that Cokesbury will be able to gather in-person in addition to virtual worship for Easter services this year.  In the meantime be sure to subscribe so you are notified when new content is added by clicking here.

Missions are being offered with COVID adaptations. Check the CokesburyMemorial.com webpage and the Cokesbury Happenings e-mails for opportunities to patriciate as they arise. If you have a mission project idea send a message to CokesburyMemorial.com or call 410-676-6295 so others can join the effort.

Fellowship and Meetings continue to be offered virtually. Again, small gatherings are the primary spreader of COVID. By gathering virtually we protect one another's physical health AND show respect for the medical personal who are overwhelmed with the surge of cases in our community. Thank you for helping in this effort!

What needs to happen for in-person gatherings to resume?  Here are some benchmarks being considered:

         * The state of Maryland and Harford County's positivity rate under 5% (Presently 8.36% in Harford)

         * The availability and commitment of trained individuals to sanitize the church for events (Still needed)

         * Guidelines and Ordinances from the CDC, Maryland Department of health, the State of Maryland,

Harford County, and the Baltimore Washington Conference are able to be followed.

The desire to resume "normal" routines is weighing on all of us. Let us all do our parts to support one another and to minimize the spread of this devastating virus.

May God continue to sustain us and guide us in this season.

August 24, 2020          Cokesbury Happenings: SPECIAL EDITION - Outdoor Worship

Blessings in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ!

Cokesbury will offer outdoor worship on the lawn each Friday at 6:30 PM, beginning this Friday and weather permitting!

Volunteers are trained, the grounds are being prepared, Mrs. Joan is preparing musical offerings and Christ centered worship is planned. Now it’s your turn, call the church office at 410-676-6295 and let us know your intent to attend worship this Friday August 28th at 6:30 PM.

Not sure what to expect when you arrive? That is ok here is a synopsis: Social distancing and facemasks are required at all times while on church grounds. Park in the parking lot by the sanctuary building. A parking lot attendant, wearing a safety vest, will direct you to park in every other parking space. When you exit your vehicle, put on your mask and take a chair or blanket with you.

On the walkway to the lawn in front of the sanctuary a greeter, will be stained along the sidewalk with a clipboard. Stop, maintain 6-foot social distancing, and check in. The greeter will ask if your response to any of the health questions has changed. Once recorded and warm greetings are exchanged, you can set up your chair or blanket in the lawn in front of the sanctuary at least 6 feet from the next closest person/family.

The worship service will be 30-40 minutes, with no singing or communal responses. No materials will be distributed or collected before, during, or after worship. To contribute your offering please mail it to Cokesbury Memorial PO Box 85 Abingdon MD 21009 or donate via our subplash account: . It is important that anything you bring with you, including bulletins, chairs/blankets and any trash be taken home with you.

After the benediction, attendees will be dismissed by family groups to return to their vehicles.

Please note, by attending a function at Cokesbury you agree to notify Cokesbury at 410-676-6295 (office) or 443-371-3171 (pastoral care line) if you become ill OR test positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of visiting Cokesbury Memorial.

Below are responses to some questions that have been asked. If you have other questions or would like more information please contact the church office at 410-676-6295 or CokesburyAbingdon@gmail.com.
